The first part of two of this tombstone recalls the death of the son and his mother, Norman Church and Mary Brush.
Norman Church, son of the late Elam Church, of the Parish of Montreal formerly of the Parish of Mascouche, aged 18 years, died on the tenth day of May in the year 1849 and was buried on the thirteenth day of the same month and year.

La première partie de deux de cette pierre tombale rappelle la mort du fils et de sa mère, Norman Church et Mary Brush.
Norman Church, fils de feu Elam Church, de la paroisse de Montréal anciennement de la paroisse de Mascouche, est décédé le 10 mai 1849 à 18 ans et fut inhumé le 13e jour du même mois de la même année.

Époux de Mary Brush et père de Norman Church.
Il est né en 1787 à St-Henri-de-Mascouche de L'Assomption, QC
Son père était Amaziah/Amasa Church (1765?1831) et sa mère, Azubah/Zuba Nichols (1768??), tous deux de Berkshire, Massachusetts, É.U.
Elam est décédé le 7 février 1846 à Hartford, Connecticut, É-U., à 60 ans.
Il fut inhumé au cimetière de Zion Hill, Hartford, Connecticut, É-U., CONCESSION Lot 801.
Notes: En 1849, une épidémie de Choléra sévissait au Québec faisant plus de 3000 morts.
